ARTIST SPOTLIGHT 2- A SIT DOWN WITH UP AND COMING ARTIST DINGMVN!!

HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!!

I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOU ALL TO THE ARTIST THAT BLEW ME AWAY DURING MY TRIP TO ALBANY.
I MENTIONED HIM DURING MY TRIP TO ALBANY FOR THE MALICE IN WONDERLAND EVENT (http://anonymousraver2013.blogspot.com/2016/05/malice-in-wonderland-amazement-in-albany.html). FOR HIS FIRST EVENT HE DID A FANTASTIC JOB AND TRULY DESERVES THIS SPOTLIGHT!

I chose to do a piece about him because it is very rare that new DJ's get recognized for their passion and talents. He opened in Albany and set the dance floor on fire. I was truly shocked at the smoothness of his transitions and how effortless he made his set appear. I have arrived early to hundreds of events over the years and to see a dance floor so alive at 9pm was mind-blowing.

There was no doubt that I wanted to feature him and I hope you all keep track of this young man and show him all the love and support necessary to help him grow. Ladies and Gentlemen...........DINGMVN!

DINGMVN: My name is literally my last name Dingman i exchanged the A for V to make it awesome HAHAHA!
I was going to ask him how he chose his name then I realized that it is a word play of his actual name soooo i felt silly for a good hour LOL.

Privately DJ'ing and perfecting his craft for 8 years, Dingmvn had his first event gig for the Albany Hard Dance crew on April 30, 2016. Dingmvn is 22 years old and hails from Ballston Spa, NY.

AR- So what got you into dj'ing and music?
D- I've always loved music doesn't matter what genre. I downloaded Virtual DJ because I felt like messing around with it. I loved that i could put whatever music I wanted together and transform it into anything I wanted. When Skrillex came into the scene, his work was what kept me enthusiastic to keep at it. Him coming into the industry gave me motivation.
AR- Can you elaborate?
D- I've always liked electronic music but nothing really kept me interested like he did.

AR- What genres do you gear towards and prefer to play?
D- The genres i gear towards mostly is Dubstep, Trap, Melbourne Bounce, and really any type of house and anything you can dance to.

AR- What do you do musically other than DJ'ing?
D- I love beatboxing if thats something musical (IT IS!) other than Djing but recently, most of my time has been devoted to djing. I'm also trying out Ableton in order to come up with whatever I can on there. Trying to learn everything possible as well as learn how to use Serum and Massive perfectly.

AR- What do you hope to portray to your audience with your music?
D- I hope to portray my free music spirit and for my audience to hear every sound as perfect as it is in my head, if that makes sense, but really I just want them to dance and have a great time.

AR- How do you come up with the idea when making a track or building a set?
D- With my set I like my tracks to start off slow give you something to chew on for a little bit then build up to have you out of breath and asking for more by the end of it.
(I must admit that he did this and I had to catch myself LOL)

AR- What do you wish to accomplish as a DJ?
D- What do I want to accomplish as a dj? I just really want to continue to have fun playing the music that I love and see other people having the same fun but i hope to someday play my own music and to have people enjoy my tracks.
(I hope to see you achieve that goal!)

AR- So, who do you consider to be your favorite local and "famous DJ's?
D- My favorite local DJ's are Y2J, NGHTWRK, Ken3tic (Sorry they are all a tie) As for famous DJ's I would have to either be Skrillex or Ghastly. I really can't choose between those genres!! HAHA
(I like a little bit of the Skrill LOL)

AR- Who do you consider to be a big influence on your art?
D- The one person who has had the biggest influence on my music has been Dillon Francis. His sounds are so bouncy and fun,yet so dirty and grimy all at the same time. I love it!

I wanted to figure out where he would love to play one day. Often times a lot of new DJ's talk about huge events, touring the world, and rocking some of the hugest stages known to the scene. DINGMVN gave me an answer that brought back some fun, dark and dirty memories. When I asked him what would be the one place he would love to play at he said this
D- One place I'd love to play would have to be Basement Saturdays at Webster hall in NYC. I had the best time ever there and I would like to relive it as a performing DJ instead of just a spectator!

We often forget that new DJ's actually exist. We don't take the time to invest in those that truly have a passion for this art and try their hardest to put out some amazing music for others. DJ'ing can be written off as a fad in this day and age where respect for the art isn't shown. Deep down I admit to being like that to at times. When I had the chance to hear DINGMVN, I realized that he gave me a huge reality check. He showed me what hard work and dedication it. That with 8 years of fine tuning (if you're all wondering he started at 14) he finally felt comfortable enough to hit the stage and share his passion with everyone.

I want to say to you DINGMVN, thank you for allowing me to interview you. Thank you for giving me a taste of what I missed. May you continue to be passionate and dedicated to the art of DJ'ing. I hope to see you on any stage real soon. Keep up the fantastic work and sta true to your roots.

Check out his page, send some love, encouragement and positive vibes to this young artist!!
