MALICE IN WONDERLAND= AMAZEMENT IN ALBANY

So on April 30th I made the last minute decision to travel all the way to Albany, NY and I am very happy I did.

The Albany Hard Dance crew worked so hard and threw an amazing event at a wonderful place called The Fuze Box. The event "Malice In Wonderland" showed throughout the venue. The decor was expertly done and I was pleased at the little candy table that displayed free pieces with "AHD" and the words "We're all mad here". People dressed for the event and I was delighted that everyone truly got into the spirit of rave and the theme.

First I will begin by saying that the venue and it's staff were so accommodating and respectful. Being a NYC girl, I was a bit shocked. They ran the bar with positivity and patience. very attentive to the need of guests and made sure that everyone left with a smile on their faces. No matter how busy or tired they were they never allowed it to show. The overall crowd was so kind and friendly (again another shock).

I watched as the hosts (Joe and Melody Kelly) ran all over making sure everything and everyone was ok and having a good time. They showed how much the love the scene and I can say that they did a FANTASTIC job. They are truly about the love and it shows.

Now I must say I was a bit biased LOL. I went to see DJ Venom and DJ Zydrate because I haven't rocked out to them in a very long time. It was great seeing you guys on stage! As usual they killed it and left me worn out and sore. BUT, I got to see some amazing new talent that I cant wait to introduce you to hopefully in a later blog post.

DJ Dice was a great surprise and he left me needing a short break LOL.

Usually when I attend events the opening artist is considered a place holder. No one really pays attention to them or how much passion they put into their work. I reached the venue early and the dance floor was alive! Dingmvn was giving all he had and although I was trying to conserve my energy I couldn't help but dance a bit. GREAT JOB!!! I found out it was his first event ever and I hope that it isn't his last.

Melody and Joe did something that I haven't seen done in a very, VERY long time. They produced a lineup of incredible talent and kept that venue alive ALL NIGHT LONG. There wasn't a moment where I was thinking about other things or that I wanted to leave because of a set. The artists were so humble and gave out all the love the were given.

I strongly suggest that you keep and eye out for Albany Hard Dance, it's events and the amazing talent. I am still in a state of excitement and I wish I could go back. You all did an amazing job. Thank you for giving your heart, soul, passion and talents.

MUCH PROPS TO THE DRUM AND BASS COMMUNITY!!!

April 23 I decided to venture out to a place that took me out of my usual setting and comfort levels. I DO listen to a lot of DNB but I never got the chance to go to an event where that was all that was featured.

NYC artists and New England artists gave us the amazing event "Together". 3 rooms with some amazingly talented artists showed us how committed, dedicated, and passionate they are to the Junglist community. Slake nightclub came to life with some of the most unique tribal beats. The place was packed and I honestly had a hard time getting around in order to check it all out.

Hosted by: JOSIAH SCRIBES (Cycle), ELIJAH DIVINE(New England Junglists), AERO(NYC Jump Up), and MURDOK (Digital Terror Recordings) did a supreme job at bringing so many known and unknown artists to NYC.

NYC's Dali (resident of Webster Hall NYC) killed it with pals Alex English and Hiyawatha in and amazing B2B2B set. Tuko gave us an experience that showed how much love he has for his craft. Siouxside gave us the energy when needed.

What I loved the most about this event was the energy in the air. Too many times I go to events and everyone is hanging on the wall or drunk. The energy was mindblowing and so positive. The people were dancing and the DJ's actually interacted with the crowds before and after their sets.

The downside was that with 3 rooms you are unable to hear every artist in full because you want to show love to everyone LOL.

I know I only mentioned a few artists above but I had the great opportunity to hear EVERY SINGLE ONE if even for 5-10 mins at a time. Check them all all (names below) an show them some love.

I am not a die hard DNB fan but MAN! you all gave me some amazing music, beautiful vibes and showed me how music can truly bring everyone TOGETHER. I look forward to the next one. Keep up the great work. Dirty beats and love!

MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT TO ALL THE ARTISTS AND CREWS INVOLVED!! YOU GUYS DID A FANTASTIC JOB AND YOU MAY JUST TURN ME INTO A DNB JUNKIE!!!
